Biological Activity

Protease-Activated Receptor-2, amide (SLIGKV-NH2) is a synthetic peptide agonist of protease-activated receptor 2 (PAR2) that corresponds to the endogenous tethered ligand domain exposed upon trypsin cleavage. Activation of PAR2 by SLIGKV-NH2 stimulates intracellular calcium mobilization and phosphoinositide hydrolysis, initiating downstream cellular signaling pathways involved in mediating inflammatory responses, physiological signaling, and microvascular activity.
