Biological Activity

PKM2-IN-1 is a small-molecule inhibitor targeting pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) with selectivity over the PKM1 isoform. By inhibiting PKM2 enzymatic activity, the compound modulates cancer cell metabolism and alters glycolytic flux. Blockade of PKM2 disrupts aerobic glycolysis and the Warburg effect, leading to suppressed cell proliferation and reduced tumor cell viability across various cancer cell models. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
