Biological Activity

PI4KIIIbeta-IN-is a potent small-molecule inhibitor of PI4KIIIβ (IC that exhibits weak activity against off-target lipid kinases including PI3KC2γ, PI4KIIIα, and PI3Kα. Target-specific inhibition of PI4KIIIβ disrupts cellular phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate synthesis and impairs downstream lipid kinase signaling pathways. Consequently, this compound attenuates intracellular membrane transport processes and suppresses host-factor-dependent viral replication organelle assembly. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
