Biological Activity

PI3K/AKT-IN-1 is a dual-acting inhibitor of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway that targets PI3Kδ, PI3Kγ, and AKT-1. By suppressing activation of the PI3K/AKT cascade, the compound blocks downstream cellular survival mechanisms, leading to S-phase cell cycle arrest and caspase-3-dependent apoptosis. Consequently, it exhibits strong antineoplastic activity and therapeutic potential in models of breast cancer and leukemia. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
