Biological Activity
Phosphoramide mustard cyclohexanamine is a DNA alkylating agent and active metabolite of cyclophosphamide that binds guanine residues in DNA to form cytotoxic DNA adducts. These cross-links block replication forks, inducing phosphorylated H2AX (γH2AX) accumulation and activating the ATM-mediated DNA damage response pathway. Furthermore, activation of downstream psignaling promotes cellular senescence and drives cells into apoptosis. [1][2]
