Biological Activity

PF-06873600 (Ebvaciclib) is a potent inhibitor of CDK2, CDK4, and CDK6. By inhibiting these cyclin-dependent kinases, PF-06873600 blocks the downstream phosphorylation of retinoblastoma protein (RB1) and disrupts cell cycle progression, thereby suppressing tumor growth and inhibiting cell proliferation in ovarian cancer models including OVCAR-3 cells. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
