PEO-IAA is a potent auxin antagonist that targets transport inhibitor response 1 and auxin signaling F-box proteins (TIR1/AFBs). By competitively binding to TIR1/AFB receptors, PEO-IAA interrupts the interaction between Aux/IAA proteins and TIR1, effectively blocking downstream auxin-mediated signaling pathways. Consequently, PEO-IAA suppresses the expression of the auxin-responsive ZmSAUR2 gene and reduces gravitropic curvature responses in plant tissues.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
