Biological Activity

PD0166285 is a potent inhibitor of Wee1 and Myt1 that also targets Chk1. By suppressing these G2 checkpoint kinases, PD0166285 acts as a G2 checkpoint abrogator to override DNA damage-induced cell cycle arrest. This disruption promotes premature mitotic entry, accumulation of DNA damage, and the induction of apoptosis. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
