Biological Activity

Pardoprunox hydrochloride is a partial agonist of dopamine D2 receptors (pEC50 = 8.0) and an agonist of serotonin 5-HT1A receptors (pEC50 = 6.3). By selectively targeting dopaminergic and serotonergic signaling pathways, the compound modulates G protein-coupled receptor activation and downstream effector cascades. These molecular interactions regulate synaptic transmission and central nervous system signaling, leading to significant downstream effects on motor function, movement control, and neurobehavioral phenotypes.

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
