P7C3 is a proneurogenic and neuroprotective agent that functions by targeting and activating nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT). Through the enhancement of NAMPT activity, P7C3 maintains intracellular NAD+ levels, thereby preserving mitochondrial integrity, enhancing neuronal survival, and protecting central neurons from apoptosis. Consequently, P7C3 promotes adult hippocampal neurogenesis and exerts broad neuroprotective effects against neurodegeneration and traumatic central nervous system injury. [1][2]
