P5091 is a selective inhibitor of ubiquitin-specific protease 7 (USP7; and the closely related deubiquitinase USP47. By blocking USP7 activity, P5091 promotes the degradation of MDM2, stabilizes p53, and modulates downstream p53-dependent signaling pathways. This targeted inhibition effectively triggers apoptotic cell death and suppresses cell proliferation in preclinical multiple myeloma models, overcoming resistance to conventional therapeutic agents.
