Biological Activity

Ozanimod hydrochloride is a potent sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) receptor modulator that acts as a selective agonist of S1P1 and S1P5 receptor subtypes. Upon binding S1P1, it induces receptor internalization and degradation, which blocks lymphocyte egress from lymphoid tissues and reduces circulating lymphocyte counts. This inhibition of immune cell trafficking suppresses neuroinflammatory pathways and attenuates autoimmune disease progression in experimental models of multiple sclerosis. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
