Biological Activity

Osimertinib dimesylate is a potent, mutant-selective, irreversible inhibitor of EGFR kinase, targeting EGFR L858R and EGFR L858R/T790M (IC50 1 nM). By selectively blocking EGFR phosphorylation, it suppresses downstream signaling pathways, inhibits cell proliferation, and induces apoptosis in non-small cell lung cancer models. Furthermore, it demonstrates robust anti-tumor efficacy in mutant EGFR xenograft and transgenic animal models. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
