Biological Activity

Oroxin B is a naturally occurring flavonoid isolated from Oroxylum indicum with antioxidant and antitumor activities. It selectively induces tumor-suppressive endoplasmic reticulum stress and promotes apoptosis in cancer cells. Treatment with Oroxin B inhibits cell proliferation by suppressing COX-2/VEGF and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways, leading to the downregulation of COX-2, VEGF, PI3K, and phosphorylated AKT along with upregulation of PTEN. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
