Biological Activity

OPN Expression Inhibitor 1 is a dihydroartemisinin ether derivative containing a 1,2,3-triazole moiety that acts as a selective inhibitor of osteopontin (OPN) expression. By targeting OPN, a key pro-metastatic glycoprotein involved in tumor progression, this compound suppresses downstream signaling pathways essential for cancer cell survival and motility. Consequently, inhibition of OPN expression reduces cell proliferation, migration, and invasive potential in breast cancer models.

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
