Biological Activity
Opiranserin hydrochloride is a synthetic non-opioid and non-NSAID analgesic that functions as a dual antagonist of glycine transporter type 2 (GlyT2) and serotonin receptor 2A (5HT2A). Synergistic blockade of GlyT2 and 5HT2A inhibits spinal nociceptive processing pathways, altering presynaptic and postsynaptic neurotransmission. This dual mechanism effectively reduces pain signaling and produces potent antinociceptive phenotypes in preclinical models of acute and chronic pain. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
