Biological Activity
OAC-2 is a small-molecule activator of Octamer-binding transcription factor 4 (OCT4) that enhances the efficiency of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) reprogramming. By promoting OCT4 transcription and activating OCT4-driven gene expression networks, OAC-2 facilitates somatic cell reprogramming into pluripotent stem cells. This compound supports stem cell research by accelerating the generation of iPSCs without compromising pluripotency characteristics. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
