NSC 319726 (ZMC1) is a small-molecule mutant p53 reactivator that functions as a zinc metallochaperone, selectively inhibiting growth in p53(R175) mutant-expressing cells with an IC50 ofwhile sparing p53 wild-type cells. It restores wild-type conformation and transcriptional activity to the p53(R175H) mutant protein. This conformational restoration reactivates p53-mediated apoptotic signaling pathways and suppresses tumor growth. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
