Biological Activity

NOX-6-18 (GPR132-B-160) functions as a potent and selective antagonist of G protein-coupled receptor 132 (GPR132). Targeted blockade of GPR132-mediated signaling regulates macrophage reprogramming within pancreatic islets, which suppresses local inflammatory responses and promotes overall metabolic homeostasis, ultimately resulting in significantly reduced weight gain and improved glucose metabolism in mice maintained on a high-fat diet.

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
