Biological Activity

Norepinephrine hydrochloride is a potent adrenergic receptor agonist that activates α1, α2, and β1 adrenoceptors. Upon binding to these G protein-coupled receptors, norepinephrine triggers downstream intracellular signaling cascades, including adenylyl cyclase and phospholipase C pathways. These receptor-mediated responses play a central role in modulating sympathetic nervous system activity, regulating vascular smooth muscle contraction, and controlling systemic blood pressure and cardiac function.[1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
