Nicaraven is a synthetic hydroxyl radical scavenger that functions as an effective antioxidant and neuroprotective agent. By directly scavenging hydroxyl radicals and inhibiting reactive oxygen species generation, it reduces lipid peroxidation and attenuates oxidative stress-induced cellular damage. These protective signaling mechanisms suppress vascular endothelial cell injury, preserve cerebral perfusion, and reduce vasospasm in preclinical ischemia models.

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
