Nabumetone is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory prodrug whose primary active metabolite, 6-methoxy-2-naphthylacetic acid (6-MNA), acts as an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). By suppressing COX enzymatic activity, 6-MNA blocks the conversion of arachidonic acid into pro-inflammatory prostaglandins, such as prostaglandin E2. This inhibition attenuates downstream inflammatory signaling pathways and reduces prostaglandin-mediated inflammatory responses. [1][2]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
