MY-1B is a covalent inhibitor of the RNA methyltransferase NSUN2 that stereoselectively targets the active-site cysteine residue C271. By blocking NSUN2-mediated cytosine-5 RNA methylation, MY-1B suppresses post-transcriptional RNA modification pathways. Targeted inhibition of NSUN2 methyltransferase activity alters downstream cellular phenotypes, including RNA stability, protein translation efficiency, and stem cell self-renewal dynamics involved in cell fate regulation.
