Biological Activity

MST-312 is a chemically modified derivative of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) that acts as a telomerase inhibitor. Inhibition of telomerase activity leads to progressive telomere shortening, suppressing proliferative capacity and promoting growth arrest and cellular senescence in cancer cells. In multiple myeloma models, treatment with MST-312 downregulates anti-apoptotic, proliferative, and inflammatory genes including Bcl-2, c-Myc, hTERT, IL-6, and TNF-α while upregulating Bax to induce apoptosis. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
