MSDC-0160 is an mTOT-modulating insulin sensitizer that functions as an inhibitor of the mitochondrial pyruvate carrier complex. By selectively modulating mitochondrial pyruvate carrier activity, this compound restricts mitochondrial pyruvate import, thereby altering cellular metabolic fluxes and nutrient-sensing pathways. Consequently, MSDC-0160 attenuates neuroinflammation, reduces neurodegeneration in preclinical models, and promotes metabolic homeostasis. [1][2]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
