JP1302 is a highly selective α2C-adrenoceptor antagonist with a Kb of 16 nM at the human α2C-adrenoceptor subtype. By inhibiting α2C-adrenoceptor activity, JP1302 modulates central noradrenergic neurotransmission and downstream G-protein-coupled receptor signaling pathways. In preclinical behavioral models, JP1302 exhibits antidepressant and antipsychotic-like effects by significantly decreasing immobility in forced swimming tests and reversing phencyclidine-induced prepulse inhibition deficits. Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
