ML351 is a selective inhibitor of human 15-lipoxygenase-1 (15-LOX-1) with an IC50 of 200 nM. By suppressing 15-LOX-1 catalytic activity, it selectively blocks enzymatic lipid peroxidation and modulates arachidonic acid metabolism pathways. Consequently, ML351 mitigates cellular oxidative stress, prevents reactive oxygen species accumulation, and protects neuronal cells from glutamate-induced toxicity and oxidative cell death. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
