ML-60218 is a broad-spectrum inhibitor of RNA polymerase III (Pol III). By suppressing Pol III-mediated transcription of essential small non-coding RNAs, such as tRNAs and 5S rRNA, it disrupts cellular RNA synthesis pathways necessary for cell growth and metabolic maintenance. Additionally, ML-60218 alters viral replication complexes by disrupting pre-assembled viroplasms independently of cellular RNA transcription. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
