MitoPQ (MitoParaquat) is a mitochondria-targeted redox cycler comprising a triphenylphosphonium cation conjugated to paraquat. Driven by the mitochondrial membrane potential, it selectively accumulates within the mitochondrial matrix and generates superoxide by redox cycling at the flavin site of complex I. This localized superoxide production modulates mitochondrial redox signaling, impairs respiratory function, and induces dose-dependent oxidative stress and cellular dysfunction in cell models. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
