Milnacipran HCl is a dual serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor that targets the norepinephrine transporter (NET) and the serotonin transporter (SERT). By blocking monoamine reuptake into presynaptic neurons, it elevates synaptic concentrations of norepinephrine and serotonin in the central nervous system.
