Miglitol is an oral anti-diabetic agent that functions as a potent intestinal alpha-glucosidase inhibitor. By selectively targeting and inhibiting membrane-bound intestinal alpha-glucosidase enzymes, miglitol delays the hydrolysis and cleavage of complex carbohydrates, including disaccharides and oligosaccharides, into absorbable monosaccharides. This targeted enzymatic inhibition prevents rapid luminal glucose absorption and effectively dampens postprandial blood glucose spikes.

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
