Mesutoclax is a potent, orally bioavailable, and selective BCL-2 inhibitor that demonstrates significantly weaker activity against BCL-XL. By inhibiting BCL-2, this compound disrupts key anti-apoptotic protein interactions, promoting mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization, activation of downstream caspases, and the effective induction of apoptotic cell death in malignant cells dependent on BCL-2 for survival.
