Mefloquine HCl is an antimalarial drug and blood schizonticide that acts by inhibiting hemozoin formation in Plasmodium parasites. It targets the Plasmodium falciparum 80S ribosome to inhibit protein synthesis and selectively blocks Cx36 and Cx50 gap junction channels. Through the inhibition of ribosomal translation and disruption of intercellular connexin signaling pathways, Mefloquine HCl suppresses parasite survival and alters cellular communication. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
