CAY10499 is a potent non-selective lipase inhibitor targeting monoacylglycerol lipase (MAGL), hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL), and fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH). By blocking these enzymes, CAY10499 disrupts lipid metabolism and free fatty acid signaling pathways, leading to the inhibition of cell growth in breast and ovarian cancer cell lines, including MCF-7, MDA-MB-231, COV318, and OVCAR-3. Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
