CAY10585 (LW6) is a hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (HIF-1) inhibitor that potently suppresses HIF-1α protein accumulation without altering HIF-1α mRNA levels under hypoxic conditions. It promotes the proteasomal degradation of HIF-1α and inhibits malate dehydrogenase 2 (MDH2). By downregulating HIF-1α accumulation, LW6 suppresses hypoxia-induced transcriptional responses, impairing tumor cell adaptation to hypoxia, angiogenesis, and metabolic reprogramming. [1]
