Biological Activity

Lumateperone tosylate (ITI-007) is a potent antagonist of 5-HT2A receptors, a presynaptic D2 receptor partial agonist, a postsynaptic D2 receptor antagonist, and a modulator of dopamine D1 receptors. Through the dual modulation of serotonergic and dopaminergic signaling pathways, lumateperone tosylate regulates downstream neuronal signaling cascades, attenuates behavioral deficits in animal models, and demonstrates anticancer activity. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
