Lomitapide is a potent inhibitor of microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTP). By blocking MTP activity within the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum, it prevents the assembly and secretion of apolipoprotein B-containing lipoproteins, including very low-density lipoproteins and chylomicrons, in hepatocytes and enterocytes. This targeted inhibition disrupts hepatic lipid transport pathways, resulting in reduced lipid secretion and decreased circulation of triglyceride-rich particles. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
