Biological Activity

Lodoxamide is a potent agonist of G protein-coupled receptor 35 (GPR35) that functions as a mast cell stabilizer. Activation of GPR35 by lodoxamide suppresses mast cell degranulation and inhibits the release of proinflammatory mediators, including eosinophil peroxidase, eosinophil cationic protein, and eosinophil-derived neurotoxin after IgA stimulation. These cellular actions mitigate eosinophil activation and attenuate localized allergic inflammatory responses.
