Biological Activity
LOC14 is a potent inhibitor of protein disulfide isomerase (PDI), displaying an EC50 of 500 nM and a Kd of 62 nM for PDI. By selectively binding to PDI, LOC14 suppresses PDI enzymatic activity and modulates endoplasmic reticulum stress responses. This targeted inhibition disrupts aberrant protein folding pathways, leading to reduced accumulation of toxic protein aggregates and attenuation of cellular toxicity in disease models.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
