LMT-28 is a synthetic interleukin-6 (IL-6) inhibitor that functions through direct binding to glycoprotein 130 (gp130). By blocking the IL-6/gp130 interaction, LMT-28 suppresses the phosphorylation of gp130 and STAT3 within the JAK/STAT signaling pathway. Consequently, this inhibition downregulates downstream pro-inflammatory gene transcription and cellular activation, leading to attenuated inflammatory disease phenotypes in preclinical models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
