Biological Activity

Liensinine diperchlorate is a novel isoquinoline alkaloid that functions as a late-stage autophagy and mitophagy inhibitor. It acts by blocking autophagosome-lysosome fusion, leading to the accumulation of autophagosomes and autolysosomes. This impairment of autophagic flux enhances mitochondrial fission through DNM1L activation and sensitizes cancer cells to chemotherapeutic agents by promoting apoptosis and suppressing cell viability.
