Biological Activity

LDN-192960 is a potent dual inhibitor of Haspin and dual-specificity tyrosine-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2). By inhibiting Haspin, it prevents the phosphorylation of histone H3 at Thr3, leading to the mislocalization of the chromosomal passenger complex and disrupting normal chromosome alignment during mitosis. Concurrently, DYRK2 inhibition modulates cell cycle progression and apoptotic signaling pathways, ultimately promoting cell cycle arrest. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
