LDHA-IN-3 is a synthetic selenobenzene derivative that acts as a potent noncompetitive inhibitor of lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA). By suppressing enzymatic LDHA activity, it effectively attenuates glycolytic flux and reduces cellular lactate production under both normoxic and hypoxic conditions. Downstream of LDHA blockade, LDHA-IN-3 stimulates the intracellular accumulation of reactive oxygen species, compromising mitochondrial membrane integrity and inducing mitochondria-mediated apoptosis in cancer cells.
