Biological Activity

LCH-7749944 is a synthetic inhibitor of p21-activated kinase 4 (PAK4) that displays selective activity over other family isoforms, including PAK1, PAK5, and PAK6. By suppressing PAK4 kinase activity, this compound inhibits downstream EGFR signaling pathways, leading to the attenuation of cell proliferation and invasive phenotypes. PAK4 functions as a key effector in modulating cytoskeletal dynamics and oncogenic signal transduction across various cancer types. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
