Labetalol HCl is a dual antagonist targeting selective alpha1-adrenergic and non-selective beta-adrenergic receptors. By competitively blocking alpha1-adrenoceptors, it inhibits agonist-induced vascular smooth muscle contraction and attenuates vasoconstriction. Concurrently, antagonism of beta-adrenergic receptors suppresses sympathetic-mediated signaling in cardiovascular tissues, resulting in diminished downstream adrenergic responses and reduced vascular smooth muscle tone. - Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
