L-Sulforaphane ((R)-Sulforaphane) is a potent inducer of the Keap1/Nrf2/ARE pathway. As a naturally occurring isothiocyanate, it promotes the activation of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) by disrupting Keap1-mediated repression. This activation upregulates antioxidant response element (ARE)-driven genes, enhancing the expression of Phase II carcinogen-detoxifying enzyme systems and protecting cellular components against oxidative stress and chemical carcinogenesis.
