Biological Activity

L-Leucyl-L-Leucine methyl ester hydrobromide is a lysosomotropic dipeptide derivative and selective cytotoxic agent targeting immune effector cells. It undergoes intracellular processing by dipeptidyl peptidase 1 (cathepsin C), inducing lysosomal membrane permeabilization and endolysosomal pathway stress. This targeted destruction leads to the selective elimination of cytotoxic T lymphocytes and natural killer cells, producing potent immunosuppressive and immunomodulatory phenotypic responses. [1]
