Biological Activity

KDM5-IN-1 is a potent and selective small-molecule inhibitor of the KDM5 family of histone demethylases. By blocking KDM5 demethylase activity, this compound increases global levels of histone H3 lysine 4 trimethylation (H3K4me3), altering downstream gene transcription programs. Consequently, targeted inhibition of KDM5 attenuates cancer cell proliferation, disrupts slow-cycling tumor cell subpopulations, and suppresses tumorigenic phenotype maintenance. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
