Biological Activity

KDM4D-IN-1 acts as a potent inhibitor of lysine-specific demethylase 4D (KDM4D), a key epigenetic regulator within the KDM4 family. By blocking KDM4D enzymatic function, the compound prevents the demethylation of methylated H3K9 and H3K36 histone substrates. This suppression alters localized chromatin structure and downregulates transcriptional programs that drive cellular proliferation, cell cycle progression, and oncogenic signaling dynamics. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
