Biological Activity

Kamebakaurin is a natural ent-kaurane diterpene that acts as a potent inhibitor of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kB) activation by directly targeting the DNA-binding activity of the p50 subunit. Blockade of NF-kB signaling suppresses the transcription of antiapoptotic target genes, enhances caspase-8 activation, and sensitizes cells to stimulus-induced apoptosis. Furthermore, kamebakaurin inhibits the JNK and p38 MAPK pathways, suppressing pro-inflammatory mediator production and neuroinflammatory responses.[1][2]
